Areas of Responsibility
Welcome to the webpage page of the Applications Branch of the WSR-88D Operational Support Facility (OSF). Within our branch, we test and refine baseline meteorological algorithms for the WSR-88D, provide algorithm-related expert assistance to National Weather Service field forecasters and other OSF branches, and serve as a technical point of contact for new algorithms under development at research facilities such as the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. We also assist the OSF's Software Engineering Section in coding new algorithms software releases and the Radar Operations Section in testing new software releases.
